- Bond Papers ( Maths, Verbal Reasoning, English)
In Essex, we do not need Non-Verbal Reasoning Books, however, I bought one (9-10 by A. Baines) to show my children different questions (more graphic ones). The book can be used as a complimentary one while solving maths puzzles.
2. Mental Arithmetic by Schofield & Sims
Book 1-6
From my experience, children will face some problems and they will need a bit of help. When I was starting with my son, it took him 40 minutes to complete the whole page. Nowadays, it takes him 10-15 and he is most of the time able to work out the answer himself.
3. Bond - How to do 11+ Maths
I highly recommend this book. It goes over primary school topics in modules, reviewing what the child is supposed to know and supplying short tests to check understanding. One 11+ Practice Test is also supplied in the middle of the book (answers supplied as well). I went over the topics one by one, doing every short tests. Once we have done this, I asked my son to do the test from the middle of the book. Whatever he couldn't do, we went over again.
